STATS ChipPAC Korea Powers Up Phase I Solar Project to Drive Green Growth

September 5, 2025 — STATS ChipPAC announced that Phase I of its distributed solar photovoltaic (PV) power station at its Korea manufacturing site has been completed and officially put into operation. The facility will supply renewable clean electricity for production, marking a key step in the company’s commitment to sustainability.
The solar project spans the rooftops of SCK and SCK+, STATS ChipPAC’s two major facilities in Korea, with a total planned installed capacity of 9.4 megawatts (MW). Phase I delivers 2.3 MW, with subsequent phases scheduled to launch in 2025. Once fully completed, the system is expected to generate about 11,000 megawatt-hours (MWh) of clean electricity annually—equivalent to reducing approximately 5,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions or planting about 460,000 trees.
Equipped with high-efficiency solar panels and intelligent inverter systems, the plant enables smart energy management while reducing reliance on external power supply. The initiative strengthens STATS ChipPAC’s energy resilience alongside its environmental benefits.

As a global leader in semiconductor packaging and testing, STATS ChipPAC has installed distributed solar systems at its sites in both Singapore and Korea, steadily increasing the use of renewable energy across its operations.

STATS ChipPAC will continue to invest in clean energy and sustainable innovation, reinforcing its role as an industry benchmark in low-carbon development.
