Portable Media Player (PMP) Solutions

Portable media players provide convenient multimedia entertainment--playing, downloading and transferring music, video and related graphics--in a portable handheld device.

Major chips found in the PMP include audio/video encoder/decoders, RF tuners, MPEG decoders, demodulators, application processors and amplifiers. Associated packaging solutions can range from the conventional QFN to BGA CSP for audio/video encoder/decoders, WLCSP for RF tuners, TQFP and QFN for MPEG decoders, and L/TFBGA for demodulators and application processors. RF modules are usually used in amplifiers and other front-end passives.
