Environmental Objectives

  • Reduce energy consumption by 5% per year from 2008 to 2012

  • Recycle at least 70% of solid and chemical waste generated per year

    Green Program Key Programs and Achievements in 2009

    In 2009, STATS ChipPAC implemented key environmental programs and initiatives.

    Achieved 6% energy reduction through Energy Conservation Programs
  • Implemented equipment auto shut off in CDA flow, monitors, heaters and centralized vacuums
  • Optimized chillers, CDA pressure, clean room, temperature set point and N2 cabinet flow rates
  • Conducted CDA Leak Detection Find and Fix Audit
  • Installed patented energy saving lamps and reduced light bulb use
  • Installed heat exchanger in flux cleaner
  • Implemented hydrocarbon coolant conversion for split aircon units
  • Conducted electricity conservation awareness campaign at all sites

    Achieved 23% water reduction through Water Conservation Programs
  • Manage water usage and shutdown of manufacturing equipment when not in use
  • Reuse cooling water and filtered water as supplement water to cool tower or as raw water
  • Increase amount of cooling tower water circulation
